Urban Renewal Agency
Urban Renewal is the statutorily allowed process of focusing existing tax payments into a new entity to support economic development.
The City of Turner approved the creation of a downtown Urban Renewal Agency in the summer of 2017. This approval came after six months of plan development and public meetings in the community.
The agency board, made up of the Turner City Council, one business owner from the district area and one representative from the Fire District, meets once a quarter to discuss issues and develop programs and policies. The City Administrator serves as the Executive Director of the agency.
